The Legal Life – meet Rhodie Anderson

27 May 2020

Rhodie Anderson is a Partner and group leader in our Planning & Environment team, with expertise covering planning, environment and property. With more than 20 years of experience, Rhodie specialises in planning and environmental law issues for predominantly developer clients.

Favourite holiday spot?

My favourite is Broome. The crystal blue waters, white sandy beaches and the wild beauty of the Kimberley are something everybody should see at least once in a lifetime!

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I am a carer for the donkey refuge, who foster abandoned and sick donkeys. The life span of a donkey is up to 50 years. Quite often they outlive their owner and end up abandoned. I find it incredibly rewarding seeing the transformation of a neglected donkey when given love and a safe home. Nothing better than being greeted by a braying donkey when I arrive home (whatever time that may be) – the neighbours may not be that happy!

Who has been your biggest mentor?

Tom Callander, Senior Consultant, Rigby Cooke Lawyers. I commenced working with Tom as a junior lawyer in Planning at Rigby Cooke and have learned so much working with him throughout my career.

What is the best piece of advice you can give lawyers starting out today?

Take and make the most of every opportunity that comes your way – you never know where it will lead you.

What are your goals for 2020?

To survive the COVID 19 pandemic and come out the other end more resilient and more tech savvy.
