Passionate about Wills and estates law, Thalia’s practice has a particular focus on complex deceased estate administration, contested probate matters, dispute resolution and estate litigation for plaintiffs and defendants. She has represented numerous high-net-worth clients, including executors and trustees, spouses, partners and adult children, and adopts a strategic yet pragmatic and cost-effective approach to achieving successful outcomes and resolutions.

• Preparation of applications for Probate and Letters of Administration, including complex applications.
• Attending to all aspects of estate administration, providing advice on executor’s duties and obligations, dealing with the realising of deceased estates and estate distribution.
• Contested probate and administration applications, including successfully challenged revocation application Thomas v Gunn 2019 (Vic) 2019 VSC 772.
• Exemplification, reseal and revocation applications.
• Advising clients about Testators Family Maintenance claims.
• Advising clients about challenges to Will validity on the basis of testamentary capacity, undue influence, knowledge and approval, and Will conformity requirements.
• Equitable claims including estoppel.
• Facilitating and negotiating settlements.
• Preparing Deeds of Family Arrangement.
• Dealing with trustees in bankruptcy.
• Representations for and in relation to contested superannuation and death benefit claims on behalf of adult children, de facto partners, spouses and parents of deceased persons.
• VCAT elder abuse, guardianship and administration matters.
