It is with deep sadness that Rigby Cooke Lawyers shares the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague and friend, Nicholas Holt (Nick).
Admitted to practice in Victoria in 1961 after completing a Bachelor of Law from The University of Melbourne, Nick joined Rigby Cooke Lawyers in 1969 (called Rigby & Fielding & Holt, Newman & Holt at the time) and served as a Partner for over 35 years. Throughout his distinguished career, Nick was a trusted advisor to many prominent individuals, private and public companies, and government authorities.
Nick’s expertise spanned a wide range of legal disciplines, including commercial law, property development, infrastructure, joint ventures, engineering, construction, telecommunications, planning, litigation, and dispute resolution. His deep knowledge and unwavering commitment earned him the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues alike.
Commenting on Nick’s passing, Managing Partner Bill Karvela said:
“Nick’s legacy is one of excellence, integrity, and dedication. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him. Our thoughts are with Nick’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
