Victorian Mandatory Vaccination requirements extended under Pandemic Orders

16 December 2021

The Victorian Government has now extended Mandatory Vaccination requirements for workers until 12 January 2022 under the new suite of Pandemic Orders1.

The Pandemic Orders (listed on the Pandemic Order Register) are made by the Minister for Health, who has authority under Part 8A of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic) to make Pandemic Orders if the Premier of Victoria has declared a pandemic (which he has).

The Pandemic Orders mirror the requirements for employers under the previous Mandatory Vaccination Directions. Employers must continue to ensure that workers meet the mandatory vaccination requirements or have a suitable medical exemption.

If you have any questions on how this may continue to affect your workplace, please get in touch with our Workplace Relations team.
