Rebecca Durso is a Lawyer in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution group.
Rebecca shares her career highlights so far and an interesting fact about herself.
Favourite holiday spot?
Phillip Island, I love the beaches, the coastal walks and how I instantly feel relaxed driving onto the Island. New York is also definitely a favourite, there’s something for absolutely everyone and Central Park is amazing.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I really enjoy good food and find baking to be relaxing. Some of my favourite desserts to bake are cinnamon scrolls, lemon ricotta biscuits and chocolate self-saucing fondants.
What have been some of the challenges you faced early on in your career, how did you overcome them?
The biggest challenge was being made redundant 6 months into my first full time position due to COVID-19. I overcame this by surrounding myself with a positive network, remaining active through studies and finding alternative ways to put myself out there to re-join the legal community.
What has been a career highlight?
During my studies, I was fortunate enough to shadow a barrister for a few mediation sessions. I was able to experience both sides of the dispute and how a settlement was ultimately achieved. In the future, I endeavour to complete the training to become an accredited mediator.
What do you think sets RCL apart from other firms?
The culture. From day one, I was made to feel so welcomed and supported by everyone. Many of the lawyers and support staff have been with the firm for several years, which really does speak volumes about Rigby Cooke Lawyers.
What are your goals for the remainder of 2021?
To continue to build my knowledge base in commercial litigation, settle into my team at Rigby Cooke Lawyers and make valuable contributions to senior counterparts and clients.
