Michael Pavlidis

How do you unwind?

I enjoy playing video games, listening to music, eating out at nice restaurants, and hiking.

When do your best ideas come?

I’m a night owl… after midnight.

Who has been your biggest mentor?

I have been lucky enough to have a few good ones, but without a doubt; Andrew Turner, Chief Clerk of Foley’s List. He made me aware that planning law even existed and further introduced me to another great mentor in Sean McArdle (who previously worked at Rigby Cooke!).

What is the best piece of advice you can give lawyers starting out today?

Always have a go. Persistence and patience are key. Endeavour to maintain positive and genuine relationships with everyone you meet.

What are your goals for 2022?

In the short term, to learn as much as I can from Rhodie, Reto and Gemma and become a valuable member of the Planning & Environment team.
In the medium term, to work towards doing my own appearance work at VCAT and Planning Panels.

What do you think sets Rigby Cooke Lawyers apart from other firms?

The noticeably friendly, respectful, and collegiate culture which makes you feel like a valued member of the team and drives you to achieve great results.
