Favourite holiday spot?
Hong Kong. It is within easy reach of Australia (pre COVID-19), and a very cosmopolitan city which still retains so much culture.
Last good book, podcast or film?
The Social Dilemma on Netflix. It is a frightening reminder about the role social media plays in our lives.
When do your best ideas come?
When I am running. I find that working through a problem takes my mind away from the pain!
What is the best piece of advice you can give lawyers starting out today?
Make the most of every opportunity that comes your way, even if you are unsure. Every opportunity gives you a chance to learn, meet new people and showcase your skills. You never know where it might take you.
What has been a career highlight?
I have been very fortunate to undertake two secondments with the Australian business of a global corporation, acting as the business’ Australian legal counsel. The first secondment was for over a year, as a fourth-year lawyer, I was thrown headfirst into corporate life and being part of the Australian senior leadership team in a multinational organisation. Definitely the biggest year of growth and fun in my career so far.
