Favourite holiday spot?

My wife and I bought a beach shack in Blairgowrie 15 years ago. While we get there less and less these days due to kids’ sport, it’s amazing what an open fire, a glass of red and a walk along the beach can do for the soul.

Last good book, podcast or film?

I have three kids that play golf – so I listen to two podcasts regularly, My Love of Golf and Mental Mastery Golf.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I started my working career as a school teacher at Parade College, a large Christian Brothers school for boys.

Why did you choose law?

My love of teaching legal studies and the passion that the kids that I taught had for the law was one of motivators for me to go back and study Law. The other motivator was my father in law who was a lawyer who said to me, “being a teacher is a very honorable profession, but it probably won’t enable you to afford my daughter!”

Who has been your biggest mentor?

Bruce Webb and Graham Sherry were both integral in getting me started in Property Law.

What are your goals for 2020?

2020 will go down in history for all the wrong reasons – but I truly hope that I can help my clients navigate their way through these trying times and come out the other end with a business still intact.

What do you enjoy most about working with your clients?

I am very fortunate to have a great bunch of clients. From Property Funds to developers to pub owners – they are all special people with a story to tell.
