The position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team.

We seek someone who is motivated, resilient and ready to be committed to providing a ‘client delighting’ experience whilst working with key internal and external stakeholders.

About you

The ideal candidate should be:

Duties and responsibilities

  • Drafting and finalising advice, drafting court documents and applications.
  • Court appearances.
  • Reviewing legal research.
  • Adhering to the firm’s policies and procedures, particularly those in relation to client and file management.
  • Business development – create a business development plan in conjunction with the Marketing & Business Development team.

Experience, skills and qualities required

We welcome applications from lawyers who have the following experience, skills and qualities:

  • Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor.
  • Victorian Practicing Certificate.
  • three-four years of post-qualification experience.
  • At least three years experience within a commercial litigation practice group.
  • Knowledge of legal procedure.
  • Strong technological skills in the use of legal research systems, internet research, document management systems, Word, Outlook and time recording systems.
  • Drafting.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Interviewing skills.
  • Problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Managing work and time.
