Professional biography:
Trevor Lloyd has experience in legal firms and corporations, both as a senior executive and as a lawyer. He has been seconded within government on a number of occasions for project purposes, including performing roles as a regulator.
Trevor has broad experience as a director, particularly in engineering and technology, financial services and insurance businesses.
As an adviser, Trevor is a general commercial lawyer, focussing on a range of industries, including the engineering, defence and emerging technologies. He advises in relation to private sector dealings with government. In relation to the negotiation of issues, he is involved in the documentation of contract opportunities and the resolution of disputes.
Significant experience:
- Advising ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems regarding its bid for a role in the Air Warfare Destroyer Project and involvement in numerous other defence projects for various international clients
- Conducting litigation regarding termination for convenience (see Kellogg Brown Root Pty Ltd v Australian Aerospace Ltd [2007] VSC 200)
- Advising the Department of Infrastructure (Victoria) in relation to the development of a strategy for the development of land side infrastructure for the Port of Melbourne, including chairing a working group made up of the chief executives of the key statutory stakeholders
- Managing regulatory change projects, including financial services reform, changes to corporate governance requirements and privacy
