Professional biography:
Scott Stewart became a Partner in our Property Group in 2005 and leads our planning and environment law practice. He is one of Victoria’s most active planning and environmental lawyers, and regularly appears as an advocate in a range of planning and environmental jurisdictions.
Scott joined us from one of Australia’s largest law firms, and has extensive expertise in assisting and advising development companies, private developers, municipal councils and objectors in the evaluation, preparation and approval of development projects.
Scott’s development experience is extensive. He has advised on a broad range of projects, including shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants, sporting and entertainment complexes, subdivisions, student housing, medium density housing and industrial premises.
Significant experience:
Scott has acted across the full gamut of planning and environmental projects and has project experience for clients, including:
- Major retailers, including Coles Myer and Woolworths
- Private and public companies involved in major development projects, such as AMP, Australian Property Network, Banco Group, Becton, BCR Asset Management, DB REEF and Estate Properties of Australia
- Statutory bodies, including Australia Post, Port of Melbourne Corporation and VicUrban
- Private developers
