Professional biography:
Peter joined Rigby Cooke as a Corporate and Projects Partner in October 2007.
Peter has a diverse client base and international experience. He has handled a broad range of local, national and international transactions and projects in many industries including energy, technology and property development. In particular, Peter has been the lead lawyer in acting for key players in the wind energy industry.
Other recent work has included corporate, construction and contractual advice in substantial infrastructure and energy projects in Australia and New Zealand, particularly in the wind energy sector.
Peter has practised as a lawyer in England and Germany, speaks fluent German and is admitted to practise law in Australia, England and Wales.
Significant experience:
- Acted for parties in major sales and acquisitions of shares, businesses and/or assets for large and mid-sized Australian and foreign enterprises
- Negotiation and drawing of asset sale agreements and related documentation for large energy facilities and projects
- Negotiation and drafting of financial management and operational obligations and related undertakings concerning one of the world’s largest sporting facilities and stadiums and its redevelopment
- Negotiation and drafting of development, construction, project and operational contractual documentation for numerous wind farm projects across Australia and New Zealand
- Negotiation and drafting of a building contract for production facilities in the energy-related equipment supply industry
- Advising and drawing architectural consultancy/project management contracts
- Negotiating and drawing of share sale, equity swap and put/call option agreements for an ASX listed Australian company in its dealings to purchase Chinese and SE Asian banking software product sale and distribution rights
- Negotiating and drawing of capital raising documentation in the context of investment, mezzanine financing and the development and commercialisation of technology products
- Negotiating and drawing of documentation of tripartite finance arrangements and security documentation in the context of renewable energy projects
- Structuring, negotiating and drawing of structures and restructures of companies, partnerships and numerous shareholder/unitholder agreements in a variety of circumstances
- Drawing of share buy-back, employee/executive share and option schemes, capital restructure documentation for listed and unlisted companies
- Negotiating and preparing international agency, supply and distribution arrangements in a variety of industries
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) – Monash University

Zentrale Mittelstufen Pruefung (German language qualification)
