Professional biography:
Greg practices exclusively in the construction and engineering areas, in both contentious and
non- contentious matters.
Greg acts for developers/ principals, contractors, consultants and superintendents. His clients include government departments, ASX 100 corporations, privately owned companies and private clients.
Significant experience:
Advising on a brownfields upgrade of a plasterboard manufacturing facility comprising a number of trade packages, including overseas sourced EPC packages.
Acting for government in the delivery of a complex upgrade to a services centre, whilst ensuring ongoing operation of the facility.
Advising on a greenfields process plant let by a number of trade packages with complex interface issues.
Advising on a carpark attached to one of Victoria's cultural venues, to be delivered under a PPP model.
Advising on medium and high density residential development projects from $2.5M - $120M
Acting for a number of private schools in the delivery of works under the Building the Education Revolution government stimulus scheme.
Assisting a tier 1 builder in disputes over a $300M infrastructure project, which achieved a renegotiation of the contract.
Advising contractor to $250M + of water infrastructure works on contractual claims against a water authority for prolongation, ground conditions and variations.
Security of Payment strategies – including bringing adjudication applications, preparing adjudication responses, appeals against adjudication determinations, and enforcement of rights under the SOPA regime in Courts.
Advising developer of medium density residential projects in termination of contracts with builder and claims against residential warranty insurance.
Advising parties in Supreme Court litigation over gasline EPC project.
Novel use of Supreme Court procedure to force rapid payment of outstanding claim, saving major earthmoving contractor client from insolvency.
