Professional biography:
Darren joined Rigby Cooke in January 2012 having previously worked for over nine years in a large international firm and then another four years in another Melbourne firm. Darren advises on all aspects of property development, sales and acquisitions and leasing. Darren has a particular focus on off the plan development, hotels, resorts and tourism projects including retirement village work and all liquor licensing and gaming requirements.
He has advised in both state and federal environmental law, particularly in relation to due diligence investigations, the management of contaminated land and controlled chemicals, emissions and the development and implementation of environmental management systems.
Significant experience:

commercial and residential conveyancing, multi lot developments including several developments in excess of 200 lots;

working for major funds manager in relation to the sales, acquisitions and leasing of its land;

Hotel Resort Tourism law including liquor licensing and gaming law including buying and selling licensed businesses;

subdivisions and development including GreenStar ratings and Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act advice;

Darren has completed his Masters of Commercial Law, focusing on Property and Environmental law issues.
