Professional biography:
Bill Karvela commenced as a partner of the firm on 1 July 2007. Throughout his professional career, Bill has been involved in a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions for major property owners, listed and unlisted funds, publicly listed companies and major asset (non property) owners.
Significant experience:
- Acting for significant manufacturing company in a $16 million convertible note issue
- Acting for a major unlisted property trust in relation to its proposed $400 million joint venture
- Acting for the administrator of an Australian domestic airline in respect of the sale of the airline and its assets
- Providing regular advice on all property related matters including large scale acquisitions, structuring issues and leasing for a major Australian property trust
- Acting for a significant superannuation fund in respect of property acquisitions across Australia and various joint venture arrangements
- Acting for a leading professional services provider in respect of a proposed takeover of its company
- Acting for an iconic Victorian retailer in relation to test case for unconscionable conduct under the Retail Leases Act 2003
- Acting for an agricultural financier regarding the leasing of livestock to the agricultural sector including negotiating innovative financing documents for the leasing arrangements
- Acting for the purchaser of the Southgate office and retail complex including undertaking extensive due diligence exercise
