Professional biography:
Andrew Whitelaw has practised in all areas of building and construction law since 1998, and leads the Building and Construction team. With extensive experience in domestic and commercial construction law, Andrew acts on behalf of builders, developers, owners and construction industry professionals.
Andrew provides expert guidance on pre-contractual negotiations, contract administration and dispute resolution. He is aware of risk management and dispute avoidance, while delivering sound commercial solutions.

- Pre-contract advice
- Drafting domestic and commercial building contracts and sub-contracts
- Assisting with claims for defects and incomplete works
- Advice on progress payments, EOTs, variations, prolongation claims, liquidated damages and debt recovery
- Advice on security of payments legislation and arbitrations

- Appearances in VCAT and all Victorian and federal courts
